 Written Policies

We can provide thorough written policies clarifying the employer's responsibilities and the drivers' roles and responsibilities in complying with Federal and State Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for the trucking industry. Our Company Policy & Safety Procedure Manual includes requirements on areas as.

  • Record of Duty (Hours of Service)
  • Accident Investigation & Procedure
  • Vehicle Maintenance - Pre-trip/Post-Trip Inspections

 Driver Qualifications

Employers and Drivers think that possessing CDL license automatically qualifies a driver. Step back and think again! Certain requirements must be met before the driver takes a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) on a public road, even for a road test! Our stream Driver Qualification File includes:

  • Minimum basic forms to demonstrate driver qualification
  • Quick reference check-off sheet to monitor form completion dates
  • Our authorization to copy the file to reduce compliance costs

(Files only provided to clients under contract who are also eligible for compliance assistance)

 Hours of Service

Hours of service rules are applicable to all employers, employees and commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) transporting property or passengers interstate. Intrastate employers, employees and CMVs are regulated by each individual state, with most adopting the federal requirements. We assist employers and employees with training & written policies on complying with the regulations that govern them including:

  • Auditing Time Records for Compliance
  • Hours of Service Rules, Procedures & Policies

    - Keeping Log Sheets (if required)
    - 100 mile radius exemption (if utilized)
    - Declaration of Available Hours (if working for multiple employers)

 Vehicle Maintenance

Federal and State Motor Carrier Regulations requires motor carriers to "...inspect, repair and maintain all motor vehicles..." under their control. Regardless of these regulations, it makes good business sense to have an organized, documented maintenance program. We can help you establish or update your program to meet the following requirements:

  • Systematic inspection and maintenance
  • Daily vehicle inspections
  • Annual inspections
  • Record-keeping o inspection and maintenance activities

 Accidents/Investigations

Employers must take certain steps in the event a driver is involved in a reportable accident. We can help by providing employers with:

  • Simple written policies and procedures to follow
  • Keeping an Accident Register
  • Assistance with accident investigations
